A year after being fired, many former probationary federal employees say they still haven’t found work

A survey of more than 300 former federal probationary employees who were terminated finds many are still struggling to secure new jobs a year later. Respondents also reported impacts on mental health and financial stability, highlighting longer-term consequences of probationary firings for the federal workforce.
