Army commanders can recommend rank bump for NCOs serving as first sergeants

Army battalion commanders can now nominate senior enlisted leaders serving in first sergeant roles for promotion and the higher pay that comes with the increased rank. The change aims to better align rank and compensation with the responsibilities NCOs are already performing in these key leadership positions.
