Coast Guard says continued shutdown is damaging operations and capabilities, vice commandant warns

The Coast Guard’s vice commandant says the ongoing partial government shutdown is harming service operations and capabilities. Adm. Thomas Allan reports the service has accumulated more than $200 million in unpaid bills since the shutdown began Feb. 14.
