Defense Department to roll out new civilian employee awards up to $25,000 by month’s end

The Defense Department plans to issue new cash awards for civilian employees by the end of the month. The program, directed by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, allows components to grant awards of up to $25,000 to help retain and recognize the top 15% of civilian performers in each agency.
