GAO: Actions Needed to Reduce Improper Payments and Fraud Risks in VA Community Care and Medicare Advantage

GAO reports that VA Community Care and CMS Medicare Advantage are designated by OMB as high-priority programs for improper payments in FY2025. VA estimated $608 million in improper payments (2.4% of outlays) for Community Care, and GAO highlights the need for stronger program integrity controls to reduce improper payment and fraud risks.
