GAO: DOD Research & Engineering Needs Stronger Management and Oversight of Technology Investments

GAO reports that DOD’s Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering is generally implementing processes to manage innovation-related technology investments, but additional actions are needed to improve management and oversight. The findings focus on how DOD can better govern and track these investments to maintain a technological edge over adversaries.
