GAO: DOD Should Assess Needs for Managing Brain Health Effects from Weapons Blast Exposures

A GAO report finds DOD has begun implementing blast overpressure requirements to prevent and mitigate potential brain health effects, including monitoring and baseline cognitive assessments for high-risk active-duty personnel starting in FY2025. GAO recommends DOD better assess what it needs to manage and oversee these efforts across the services.
