A GAO report examines how long it takes GAO to hire for mission-critical occupations and finds that using more reliable hiring data could help the agency better monitor and manage its time-to-hire. In FY 2024, GAO’s hiring for these roles averaged about 103 days, highlighting opportunities to improve tracking and process oversight.
