House Passes Funding Bill to End Short-Term Government Shutdown

A lapse in funding for parts of the federal government began Jan. 31 amid negotiations over the remaining appropriations bills. The House passed a measure to restore funding, including a two-week continuing resolution to keep the Department of Homeland Security funded while talks continue on a full-year deal.
