Judge blocks ‘favorite EO’ essay question on federal job applications

A federal judge issued a stay preventing agencies from requiring an essay question asking applicants to identify their “favorite” executive order, which critics called a loyalty test. The court did not bar agencies from considering answers already submitted by applicants.
