The Department of Labor released two Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) opinion letters addressing when commuter travel time may be compensable and how remote work time should be treated under wage-and-hour rules. While not a new regulation, the guidance may affect how employers—including federal workplaces—track and pay for travel and telework-related work time.
