OPM issued a final rule (Aug. 26 Federal Register notice) updating its regulations for “critical position pay,” a special pay authority used to set compensation for certain hard-to-fill, high-need federal positions. The changes clarify and adjust how agencies can use this authority and the conditions for approval.
