OPM finalizes rule updating federal hiring pathways for current college students

OPM has finalized a regulation originally issued as an interim rule in 2021 to encourage agencies to hire students into part-time roles while they are still in school and more easily convert them to permanent positions. The Trump administration made only minor changes, keeping the overall student-to-career hiring approach largely intact.
