OPM has identified more than 100 outdated or duplicative federal job titles for consolidation, affecting roughly 5,000 employees in roles such as meat cutters, woodworkers and elevator mechanics. The effort would reassign workers to updated job series without changing their actual duties, aiming to streamline federal position classification.
