OPM proposes expanding hazard pay for federal wildland firefighters during prescribed burns

OPM has proposed new regulations that would make federal wildland firefighters eligible for a 25% hazard pay increase when conducting prescribed burns. The change would expand premium pay eligibility beyond active wildfire response to include proactive fire-mitigation work.
