OPM proposes new FEHB enrollment verification requirements to prevent ineligible coverage

OPM has published proposed regulations to implement a 2025 law requiring stronger verification of FEHB enrollments. The changes aim to curb improper spending after a GAO report warned the government could be paying up to $1 billion per year for health coverage for people who are no longer eligible.
