OPM proposes new rules to verify FEHB enrollments and eligibility

OPM has published proposed regulations to implement a 2025 law requiring stronger verification of FEHBP enrollments. The changes aim to prevent coverage from continuing for people who are no longer eligible, after GAO warned the government could be spending up to $1 billion a year on improper health benefit payments.
