OPM proposes new rules to verify FEHB enrollments and prevent ineligible coverage

OPM published proposed regulations to implement a 2025 law requiring stronger verification of FEHBP/FEHB enrollments. The changes aim to reduce improper spending after GAO warned the government could be paying up to $1 billion a year for coverage of people no longer eligible.
