VA readies massive contract to manage veterans’ private-sector health care

VA is preparing a large contract aimed at improving oversight and increasing competition among private-sector providers that deliver VA-paid care. The move targets the growing Community Care footprint, which VA says now accounts for more than 40% of all veterans’ care.
